Our Mission

The mission of AHEC is to enhance access to quality healthcare, particularly primary and preventative care, by improving the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals through community and academic educational partnerships.

Who We Serve

The Iowa AHEC Program is a state-wide intitiative led by the University of Iowa in partnership with Des Moines University and selected community-based health care entities serving as regional AHEC host sites.
